Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger is due to fly back to London
in order to help finalise the transfer of Barcelona’s Alexis Sanchez,
stating that the deal is ‘almost done’ and that everything should be
wrapped up by Wednesday.
In an interview with French TV via talkSPORT, Wenger let the cat out of the bag and confirmed the reports that the 25-year-old Chilean international was bound for London.
“Alexis’ transfer is almost done. We expect to complete the signing on Wednesday.”
Reports began to circulate last week that Barcelona were trying to convince Sanchez to join Liverpool as a makeweight to land Uruguayan striker, Luis Suarez.
However, Alexis rejected the move to Anfield and insisted that his desire was to play for Arsenal, which Barcelona finally bowed to.
Arsenal are expected to pay €35-38million to the Blaugrana and sign Alexis to a four year deal.
