Wenger eyes £10m deal for Barca ace

Arsenal fans are looking up with interest here in the Football Transfer Tavern as Metro claim that Arsene Wenger is ready to consider a deal to bring Alex Song back to the club.

The midfielder spent a successful period at the Emirates Stadium before his ill fated move to Barcelona and now it seems that the Cules are desperate to get rid of him – and will take as little as £10million for him.

As one of our punters notes over a pint, we initially thought that the La Liga side were willing to allow him to go for free on a 12 month loan spell but it seems that Wenger is willing to consider making the move permanent and taking full advantage of the versatile player.

Song meanwhile is willing to leave the Camp Nou and would welcome a move back to the Premier League – with a host of clubs keen on landing his signature, especially should it be for free on a 12 month loan.
