Florian Kohfeldt Continues at Bremen helm

35-year-old Florian Kohfeldt becomes the sixth head coach in the german bundesliga below age 40 and has since impressed in his seven games since taking over from Alexander Nouri, who was sacked in October.

Initially appointed on an interim basis, Bremen have won three out of seven fixtures, which includes crucial victories over Hannover and Borussia Dortmund.

While they still languish in 16th place, sporting director Frank Baumann admitted the club's hierarchy have been pleased with the improved level of performances and style of play under Kohfeldt.

"Regardless of the outcome of our DFB Cup match against Freiburg, we've seen the desired improvement in the side and want to give Florian Kohfeldt the opportunity to continue his work," Baumann told the Bundesliga website.

"Our objective has to be to avoid relegation and to keep developing the team next season."

A delighted Kohfeldt added: "Our team's got the potential to stay in the Bundesliga and we want to show that consistently in the second half of the season.

"I'm very happy to be able to continue working with the players, my coaching staff and all the colleagues who help the team."
