De Gea Plus Cash for Bale

Down to jittery last days in the summer transfer window and there's one irresistible deal out there that
The Daily Star says could still happen. The outlet says Manchester United are willing to give Real Madrid David De Gea and £65 million to bring Gareth Bale to Old Trafford.


Real president Florentino Perez has said repeatedly that he wants to keep Bale at the Bernabeu, but The Sun reports that the club is also still completely smitten with De Gea.

Meanwhile, De Gea is languishing on the Man United bench and time is running out to make this deal actually happen.

For his part, Louis van Gaal has left the door open to last-minute deals (Angel Di Maria last summer anyone?), saying, "We shall do announcements when we want to do it not when you want an answer."
