Agent Finalising Deal To Bring Star To Emirate

Zenit St. Petersburg v Juventus: Group H - UEFA Champions League

The Gunners are closing in on their first signing of the January  transfer window, with reports from Italy claims Arthur Melo, is set to complete a move on an 18 month loan deal.

Tuttosport reports that Arsenal have now accepted the terms of agreement with Juventus. The Italian giant want Arsenal to take Melo for 18 months, rather than just the six for this season.

The midfielder agent is now working hard to conclude the deal with Arsenal currently.

Surely the Gunners will soon be ready to announce the Brazilian as their new signing at the start of this coming week.

Melo has emerged as one of the top midfield targets for the Gunners. The gunners manager Mikel Arteta is desperate to add depth in the middle of the park.

He signed Albert Lokonga in the summer, but with only Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey senior figures in the middle of the park, more is needed.

The Brazilian was a £66m signing for Juventus. But the Turin giants are now willing to let Melo go, with Arsenal ready to accept the long-term loan deal.

Maybe the fact Thomas Partey was sent of this week has sped things up here, but the Gunners need a midfield player through the door and quickly. Of course, it needs to be the right player too.

But in Melo, it looks like the Gunners are getting a player of sufficient quality. He’s ideal for what they need in the middle of the park. Cool in possession, can get box to box, and doesn’t mind a biting tackle either.

This 18 month deal will give Arteta the time he needs to assess Melo. Essentially, it’s an ideal transfer really.
