Reading Wants Karl Jakob Hein From Arsenal

Reading are interested in signing Karl Jakob Hein from Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal in the January transfer window, according to The Sun

The Sun are reporting this evening that Reading have made a request to Arsenal to sign Estonia international goalkeeper Hein on loan until the end of the season.

Arsenal are willing to let the 19-year-old goalkeeper leave on loan if he gets regular playing time in the coming weeks and months.

The report has added that the transfer could go through if Reading are willing to use Hein ahead of Luke Southwood.

In our view, if Hein gets the chance to leave Arsenal on loan for the second half of the season, then he should take it.

Aaron Ramsdale is the clear first-choice goalkeeper at the Gunners at the moment.

That is not going to change anytime soon.

Now, Hein has been on the books of Arsenal since 2019 when he joined from FC Nõmme United.

The teenager has played 12 times for Estonia, but he has yet to feature in the Premier League for Arsenal.

So, in our view, getting valuable first-team experience now would be beneficial for Hein.

Reading are 21st in the Championship table at the moment with 22 points from 27 matches, just three points above third-from-bottom Peterborough United, who have played 25 games.
