Manchester United keen on Seamus Coleman

LVG is in search for quality right-back as Rafael hasn’t played up to his expectations since returning from injury. Manchester United boss feels that Rafael has much more potential in him but he isn’t able to play according to his not up to his mark.

Van Gaal signed three players in the summer for the position of left-back but he couldn’t find player who can fill the right-back position.

Luke Shaw, Daley Blind and Marcos Rojo were transferred to Old Trafford last summer.

Blind was no doubt the best left wing-back in the World Cup 2014 and helped Netherlands to take the 3rd spot. His impressive performances led him to sign a deal at Old Trafford.

Shaw also moved to Old Trafford in the summer from Southampton. He performed quite brilliantly in last season and therefore made it into the PFA team of the year last season.

While Marcos Rojo had also a successful World Cup as left-back. But he played mostly in central defense at his former club Sporting Lisbon.

Van Gaal is need of a versatile player that could be effective in both ends of the field. Rafael hasn’t been able to impress the Dutch coach, may be because of his injury problems.
Reports state that Manchester United are about to sign Everton’s Seamus Colemon for €32million. This season, he has scored 3 goals and provided 3 assists in 21 games. He was also voted the best right back in the Premier League last season.
