Borussia Monchengladbach Looking Good - Bonhof

Borussia Monchegladbach are sixth in the Bundesliga standings at the halfway mark, level on points with third-placed Borussia Dortmund and only a further two points adrift of second-placed FC Schalke.

Bonhof has been impressed by what he has seen from the Borussians thus far, especially considering their injury troubles, and believes they are on track to meet their campaign targets.

"If we just look at the points tally and where we are in the table, we’re definitely on target for our goals. If you look at things more closely, I think our record so far is even better reading," he told the club's official website.

"Because we are only two points off of second place in the table. Because we are on the same amount of points as the third-placed side. Because we, in a league that is tighter than it has been for many years, have taken the intensified competition in our stride and put ourselves in a good position.

"And because we have achieved all of that whilst having numerous players out with injuries. We have had to deal with at least five absentees for every matchday, at one point, the number of absentees was as high as nine."

Gladbach last defeated Hamburger SV, 3-1 on Friday, to end a run of three games without victory. Up next for Andre Schubert's side is a home tie with Bayer Leverkusen on Wednesday.
