Nobody Bored in Atalanta-Lazio Draw - Inzaghi

Lazio boss Simone Inzaghi lauded the spectacle as his side drew 3-3 with Atalanta in Sunday’s Serie A clash at Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia.

Mattia Caldara and Josip Ilicic scored for the hosts while Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Luis Alberto earned a points for the Romans.

"It was a good response in a very difficult situation. I knew we could suffer here, but we recovered from a quick one-two that would’ve sent anyone to the mat," Inzaghi told Mediaset Premium.

"I don’t think anyone was bored tonight. I’ve been saying for a while that Milinkovic-Savic has immense quality for a 22-year-old and on top of that he works so hard. He can become even stronger.

"Atalanta impressed me the most in terms of tempo this season. They are a few points behind, mainly due to the added Europa League commitments, but they are doing very well this season too.

"I am glad that tonight we proved we never give up and want to stay close to the leading pack."

The win leaves Lazio fifth in the standings, while Atalanta are nine points below them in seventh.

"I am satisfied anyway, as Lazio are an excellent team," added Atalanta boss Gian Piero Gasperini. "We emerge stronger from this game, as we played the kind of football I like.

"We played at a high tempo and only had a moment of difficulty towards half-time. Of course, Lazio have technically-gifted players and were able to make the most of it.

"I must say there was still a sense of disappointment at the final whistle, because with a win we could’ve really climbed up the table. It remains a very balanced campaign and we played a very strong team, but gained the knowledge we can fight it out with the best of them."
